I have been waiting for Easter for almost a year now. Of course it has come and gone now, but for the last year I had Eli's Easter outfit hanging in his closet. We bought it on our vacation last May at The Children's Place outlet for $10! I am so glad we took pics before we left the house because he had an accident in his pants at church and then got chocolate all over his shirt by the time we got to Easter #1 of 3. Despite that it was a fun day and had so much fun watching my little man discover some Easter fun.

I love this girl so much! I work with her mom and grandma and cannot keep my hands and kisses off this beautiful little girl! I am living vicariously through her mama wishing I had a little girl of my own! I wanted to do something special for her baby gift so here is the product! Mom wanted to wait until she was old enough to interact with us and smile and laugh! We were able to capture a little bit of everything. Ok I will stop talking now and bring on what you really want to see!

I have, just this morning, decided to start blogging about all the things that I allow my son to do as a mother that I was taught growing up not to do! My first post, is of my 3 year old son playing in the street. While this may sound absurd, I was standing within 6 feet of him the whole time and made him come back to the driveway or sidewalk if a car was approaching. Eli had been trying so hard to jump in the puddles all day and I would not let him. It was freezing cold and he didn't need to be wet, so when we got home I decided to go ahead and let him splash in the puddles. The only puddles around were in the street though, so why not?!! I let him splash to his hearts desire, well until I got too cold to be outside :) I am a weenie when it comes to the cold and being outdoors! My thought process is from a semi -new revelation, life is not all about living by the rules. Its about living with passion and having fun doing it but with boundaries! I want my children to grow up and live out their lives with passion for God, but how they live their spiritual life is rooted in how they live their everyday life, taught as children.

Goodbye to the Old Year

I went through all my personal pics and made a collage for 2009 pictures of Eli. I have decided to get it printed and hang it in our hall. I am also thinking of making one for each year. I am still debating on color or black and white, but I am actually leaning towards color to my surprise. I have bought primer and paint and have a project for this next week. :) YEAH! I love painting! We have picked out a more neutral lighter color that will hopefully lighten things up and make it easier to decorate. Well compared to our 1970's house of lime green, brown, orange and gold that is. I will post pics when I get it done. I hope to get some more pictures printed and framed to hang up. I am anxious to share the finished product.

White Christmas 2009

Oklahoma was in the widespread blizzard last week. We were fortunate to not have any problems. There were many people who got their cars stuck or had accidents. Our city had a 50 car pile up on the interstate including 2 troopers and an ambulance. This was Oklahoma's first blizzard we broke the state record for most snowfall in one day with 14.1" This is a picture looking out our front door, there was very little visibility especially driving in it.

Luckily this only lasted one day! By the next day the roads were still bad but the sun was out and without the blowing wind the roads were travelable. We drove down to Moore to see my family for Christmas. (Don't worry Sam was driving while I took these pics)I had plans to take Eli out for the first three days to play in the snow and finally got the chance on Monday.

He had so much fun, he did not want to come inside. His little hand was turning purplish red, so I bribed him with playing outside Tuesday to get him in.

Mini Session $75: Mini sessions include only the actual session time with twenty plus portraits. No products are included.

I finished up with this shoot and gladly got to present these beatiful girls with their pics! They are best friends and I had so much fun taking their pictures. They are so funny and we had a blast. I love taking silly pictures along with portraits and thats just what we did with these two hilarious girls!!!
Both girls have birthdays in November and for their birthdays they were presented with purity rings so we included that in our photo session as well.

This past Saturday I got to hang out with Miss D and Miss F. We went to bricktown and walked around having some photo fun! I love that the two girls together have lots of fun and do not care what people think of them! Some of the shots we took had me rolling in laughter. For those of you who know me lets just say the geese didn't make it south. ( as in I was laughing so hard ALL afternoon) between wierd sounds to get natural smiles and HILARIOUS fun shots we had a blast. This last weekend our nephew Wesley came to stay with Sam so they could have male bonding time, AKA video games and theology talks. By Saturday afternoon I was bored and was craving some photoshoot action. So I called up my baby sister, Christy, who by the way is one of my favorite models ever!!! She makes me work for my fun! LOL She conned her boyfriend, J, and friend, T, into going out to Lake Hefner for a mini shoot. I am kidding I think it was actually the other way around for Miss T she was so excited, and said it was her first photo shoot ever. I don't think I have laughed so hard in a while! Oh to be back in college... NOT! Its fun to be young and free but no thank you on the school part!!!

Eli went outside to play and when I went out to check on him he said "Mama you're hair's blowing... so is mine. I need a hat." The day has finally come, Eli is in school. Eli started preschool/daycare on Monday. I was not emotional about it he ran off and played and did really well. However when we were in the car driving off I realized that I did not say bye or give him a kiss or tell him I love him so then

Tribute to My Dad! Just call us "The Peppers"

As babies, my sisters and I had a small "I'm a pepper" T-shirt that we wore around the house from the time we were like 9 months old until we outgrew it (around 2 or 3 years old). It of course matched the one our dad had. My dad is a recovering Dr. Pepper-holic, and by recovering I mean he drinks diet now!!!LOL Since he is just a few years older and is living a much healthier lifestyle now to keep him healthy! Anyway, I'm not to sure what happened to our matching shirts, but I am sure after 10 years of wear from the time they started me to the time my baby sister Christy wore it, it probably was worn out and time for the trash! When we were at the Dr. Pepper musuem what a better surprise for my dad than to get him a "I'm a Pepper" shirt identical to the ones we had! :) So to really add to the sentimental value of this shirt I got one for each of us girls and of course gotta make it a generational thing and got my son, Eli, one as well!!! We three girls and Eli put our shirts on and had Eli take Papa his shirt! I was hoping for a tear but that's okay dad I know you teared up in your heart!!! ;)

I tried to find the picture of me as a baby in the shirt but its still packed away from the move and cannot find it! So here are the present day pics of us in the new shirts!

I do not know how we got Eli to smile in one pic and not the other!?! Its hard to get a SUPER ACTIVE 3 year old boy to actually look at the camera and smile all at once!!! Suggestions welcome!

I rewarded myself and ate not just one but two of these YUMMY cookies for lunch today... I need the pumping up for this weekends house project! I am ashamed to show this but we have just thrown stuff in our extra room when we were cleaning in a hurry, and it has exploded and I am tired of it!!! So my goal is to get this room cleaned out this weekend!

Oops I forgot to post our welcome home! When we were driving back on our way home I couldn't help but be happy... We were singing to the iPod and I was getting in some quality prayer time as I stared out the window at God's beautiful creation. We came back into Oklahoma welcomed by the perfect weather! Clouds but not cloudy...sun shining...warm but not hot...and a soft breeze! The perfect Oklahoma summer day! I couldn't help but pull out my camera!

The closer we got to good ol' OKC the cloudier it got...

But God put a smile on my face; you see I have been trying to think of my favorite things kinda like the song from "Sound of Music"! LOL I know I am wierd, but seriously though. God reminded me of one of my favorite things:

Last week we ventured out on our first family roadtrip and went to San Antonio! We stopped in Waco and went to the Dr. Pepper Museum; that was Sam's stop on the trip. It was pretty cool though!

We did have a hard time keeping up with Eli, don't know why we didn't use the puppy dog leash!? But in the midst of the chaos he stopped and unknowingly posed for me! From the Dr. Pepper Museum we drove to San Antonio. We spent Saturday and Sunday at Sea World. Both days it stormed on us but we just got out of the rain and waited it out. It turned out for the best! In waiting it out the crowds cleared out and cooled the temp down! It was the perfect 2 days to go!!! On Sunday we dined with Shamu, it was a little pricey but some friends talked us into it and I am so glad they did!!! IT IS WORTH THE MONEY!!!

We also spent quite a bit of time on the Riverwalk and downtown. I am a sucker for nature and architecture! I love taking pics of them so no lie the majority of our almost 2000 vacation pictures were of that! I have picked just a few of my favorites to share!

Here are my niece and nephews. We went out to the Myriad Gardens for a mini session a couple of weeks ago. They are so full of life and man what I would give to have an ounce of all their energy! This was an unposed picture she just did it. I thought it was kinda silly at first, but it ended up being one of my favorites of her!

Baby "L" was the first time I attempted to shoot some pictures in Manual mode with raw files. Yikes I threw a bunch out cause they were blurry and fuzzy but there were a few that were good. I think I will stick with automatic for the studio look, and save manual for outdoor settings where I have better light to work with until I get the hang of it...

Yesterday I had the pleasure of working with the "S" family. I enjoyed this handsome little man so much. He was full of expressions!
